What do you focus on?March 24, 2022
The case for consistencyApril 25, 2022
I realised today how easy it is to lose trust in a partnership. How much the way we conduct ourselves matters. And how often we underestimate the impact our energy has on a room when we enter.
Today I was privileged to sit in a meeting with two renowned leaders that I admire. As I watched them interact, I saw how their interactions constantly built a business partnership up. How they worked together to find a solution. It was clear in both their approaches from the minute I entered the room that a solution would be found and that it would be found seamlessly & easily.
It reminded me how often we let our emotions cloud our judgment, that when we react in haste or emotion, we forget that there is another person we are interacting with. That they too have their thoughts, fears and doubts. It made me question myself, how do I show up in a room? Do I create a space where those around me feel they are able to search for solutions?
Reflecting on this I noticed how often I forget to show up as a leader of partnerships. How often in the busy day to day movements I forget that everyone I deal with is a person too. Partnership is the cornerstone of our business, it underpins everything that we do. Today I was reminded that I need to reflect and make sure I show up in a way that honours my partnerships. Is this something you need to do too?
